The Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI) organized a successful trade delegation from Chile to India, aiming to foster stronger business ties between the two countries. The three-day event kicked off with a comprehensive orientation session for Chilean exporters. They were introduced to the Indian market landscape, including both traditional and modern retail formats. Site visits to INA Market, Khan Market, and a modern retail outlet provided valuable insights into the diverse Indian consumer market and its potential.
The second day focused on business-to-business meetings between 12 Chilean exporters and 73 Indian participants, 50 traders & importers, 08chefs, and 15 retailers. A total of 111 meetings were conducted, making it the largest trade delegation event of its kind between Chile and India. A networking lunch further facilitated interactions with 50 importers other than participants.
On the final day, the delegation visited wholesale markets for fresh and dry fruits, gaining firsthand knowledge of India's import and distribution channels. These visits provided valuable insights into Indian market dynamics and consumer preferences. Through this initiative, FIFI successfully facilitated meaningful connections between Chilean and Indian businesses, paving the way for long-term partnerships and increased trade.
